Send us your bill of materials. We come back with lifecycle status, real lead times, single-source exposure and a qualified alternate for every part that needs one.

BOM Risk Audit

Typical length
3–5 days
What you get
6 written deliverables, listed below
What decides the number
Line count, and how many parts need an alternate qualified rather than just looked up. Over 150 lines we quote per project.
Scoping
One call, then a written scope. We say no when it is not ours.

01 The terms

Quoted per project, after a call. We do not publish a band for this, because a number without a scope is a guess and you would have to unpick it later anyway.

Tell us what the work has to do and when it has to be done, and you get the scope and the number in writing — or a straight answer that this is not ours.

03 The problem

A board is only as manufacturable as its least available part. An end-of-life regulator, a 52-week lead time, or a component with exactly one source will stop a production run just as effectively as a design fault — and unlike a design fault, it arrives without warning.

Most BOMs are assembled from what was in the designer's library, not from what a distributor can actually ship next quarter.

04 What you get

  • Lifecycle status for every line: active, NRND, or end-of-life
  • Real distributor stock and lead times, not catalogue availability
  • Single-source exposure flagged, with the risk stated plainly
  • A qualified alternate for every part that needs one, checked for footprint and spec compatibility
  • Cost roll-up at your build quantity
  • A ranked list of what to redesign around now rather than later

05 How it runs

Day 0
You send the BOM. CSV, Excel or a KiCad export — whatever you have.
Days 1–4
Lifecycle, sourcing and alternates research.
Day 5
Annotated BOM back, with the ranked risk list on top.

06 Whether this is for you

This is for you if

  • A board heading into its first production run
  • A product that has been in production a while and nobody has re-checked the BOM
  • Anyone who has been bitten by an allocation shortage once already

This is not for you if

  • Schematic or layout review — that is Pre-Fab Design Review
  • Negotiating with distributors or placing orders on your behalf
  • BOMs with no part numbers. We need something to look up.

07 Proof

Epsilon1 ships with a BOM carrying distributor part numbers and qualified alternates, because a BOM you cannot order from is a document rather than a deliverable.

Board-to-Fab

08 Questions

Is this included in Board-to-Fab?

Yes. This offer is for boards somebody else designed.
