About
A small lab that does both halves.
Epsilon Labs is a hardware and software practice founded in January 2025, working with clients in Pakistan, the Gulf and the UK.
01 The name
ε is the tolerance you have to meet.
In analysis, a proof begins for every ε greater than zero. Epsilon is the arbitrarily small margin the argument still has to hold inside — however small someone makes it, you have to get within it.
It is a good description of the work. A board is either within tolerance or it comes back from the fab useless. A statutory clock is either met or it is a finding. A protocol is either decoded or the product does not exist. Most of engineering is deciding how small ε is allowed to be and then actually getting inside it.
The mark on this page is not a font. It is traced from the 120-pixel epsilon embedded in the Epsilon1 firmware — the one that lights up on the terminal's display at boot.
02 How we work
Discovery is priced separately
Unknowns get a timebox, not an optimistic estimate
When a project depends on something nobody has documented, that is its own phase with its own budget and a decision point at the end. You find out whether it is possible before you have committed to the rest.
One team, both halves
No handoff means no handoff document
The person who decoded the bus designs the board and specifies the API. Decisions that span firmware and cloud get made once, by someone who will have to live with both.
You own the outputs
Everything needed to build it again without us
Schematics, board files, libraries, an orderable BOM, firmware source, and documentation written for someone who was not in the room. We would rather be re-hired than depended on.
We say no
Some features are the dangerous option
We turned down an AI-mediated emergency escalation path on a compliance product because email is not a 999 call. Scoping something out is a design decision and we will argue for it.
03 Who
Led by Ehab Riaz.
BEng (Hons) Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Brunel University London, IET accredited — with the board files to show for it. The Epsilon1 carries Designed by Ehab Riaz on its back silkscreen.
Work spans fuel retail, paint manufacturing, apparel, textile trade, property compliance, sports facilities and private finance. The through line is not an industry. It is problems where the hard part is upstream of the interface.
Come with a constraint.
A deadline, a unit cost, a protocol nobody has documented. Those make the first conversation useful.
